a nursery for a july baby

I have been lazy on my master bedroom.

It will get done. I am just trying to get my chair perfect and another little issue I am working with.

Actually, I have been completely selfish and have spent most of my break with my little boy or Mr. B. Whether it was an adventure walk with Thurgood or a movie date with Mr. B, I have indulged in my family this break…and have loved every second.

I do though have a delightful room to share with you. I have been helping my dear friends with the nursery for their 1st child due this month. You may remember my little tease here. The soon to be daddy and I spent an entire day just painting and drawing.

So in honor of welcoming July and soon to be Baby M (the sex is going to be a surprise), I want to share the completed room that reflects this new little family to a tee. I think it looks fabulous...but then again after taping and tracing letters (I had to free hand many of them because I am such a perfectionist), I am a tad biased with our work.

The nursery is ready for baby!

Some frames, scrapbook paper, & a paint make delightful art

Dragonflys & a suspended mirror...

The reading nook for mommy & baby

I hope the family is pleased. I know I am. Plus it makes me want to get started on Thurgood's big boy room.

Cheers~

P.S. I want to thank A Whole Lotta Love for awarding me the Beautiful Blogger Award! I am so honored...now I just need to finish some projects and showcase some beauty in order to better live up to the award. :)

  1. How did you do the letters? I like that idea.

  2. The idea for the wall was taken from RMS "Modern Boy Nursery."

The Mommy To Be created a PowerPoint slide with random letters and then we projected them onto the wall using a projector. We had to do 2 projections to cover the entire wall so I taped off the letters and free-handed the ones with curves, painted, and then moved on to the next projection. The Daddy To Be & I did the light color first and darker on top, but you could do it either way.

    Cheers~

  4. What a gorgeous nursery!!! Almost makes me want to have a baby so you can decorate for me. I also loved the reference to your "adventure walks". We used to call them "wonder walks", picking up little treasures, when we took the grandkids. And now my son does what he calls "adventures". He'll take them for walks around my house and other places and make up adventure stories about the things they see. You are Awesome.
