Ok...so here is an AFTER 1st. I just HAD to show you. I am so in love with my little numbered pots. They make me smile...especially when I hear Thurgood counting away.
Back to the befores.
Here is what I came home with. All of these lovelies were purchased with the $10 gift card that I won. I am so picky when shopping. I have to see true potential before I spend a dollar, even if it is happy "found" money.
Oooohhh how I LOVE science pieces. I am a science nerd at heart and for less than $1..this was mine at hello. Just wait...she will be adorable when I am done with her. I am amazed the magic of spray paint...just wait.
Who doesn't love a cloche? I KNOW this is a cheese dome, but po-TATE-O...po-TOT-o. I love glass and I love cloches. Oh...and I have a little treat in store for this little one. I am all about personalizing pieces and this little darling will be even cuter.
I knew from the start that I want to recreate those divine numbered jars from Dreamy Whites giveaway. Lately numbers have been popping up all over my little abode. So I came home uber excited to get to work on these sweet little pots. But before the night was over, I found out great minds do think alike. Marianne over at Songbird had recreated them as well. I want to give her props all the same. She is uber sweet and oh so talented.
So with my pots painted, I started at 4 in the same font I had used before on my pillows and since my pillows already had 1, 2, and 3...4 just seemed natural.
Cheers~

PS I forgot to take a pic of the little wooden box..no worries...I will have a good before and after for you. I also purchased a darling shirt for $1. Hmmm......stay tuned for those finds. :)

Thurgood is adorable! He looks like such a happy little guy. I bet he's a perfect gentleman.
ReplyDeleteYou know, you are just so smart. I saw a few little pots at Goodwill today, picked them up and thought, "Nah. I'll get some when I figure out how I'd like to paint them." Numbers are brilliant! They look really, really cute! And the cloche is perfect. I can't wait to see what fabulous purpose it serves! I think I want YOU to take ME shopping!!
The pots are a stroke of genius! Why did I spend my cash on the Anthro spice jars...I had some little pots here! Brilliant! LOVE the cloche. Now I need to go hunting for some treasures at my favorite thrift store. Love the test tube rack too....charming!
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course you can scatter your flowers through your home...I love doing just that..makes me smile in every room!
These are awesome. And, I just told hubby yesterday that I want to get 4 pots to use for our house numbers.
ReplyDeleteVery well done Meg! And thanks for the comment. I hope you can sew with your mom on the weekend. It's easy and fun to do it, believe me!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week,
:-) Li
Oh my goodness. Just yesterday I found one of these little pots and got as far as grabbing it and the craft paints out but no further. NOW I know what I want to do with it....and of course I need to start hunting for more of them!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeletelove them! great job you did! cute idea!
ReplyDeleteThese turned out so cute! I need to make some--add to list!
ReplyDeleteLove the pots! That is such a cute idea. I saw some stools not too long ago where someone had stenciled numbers on them (can't recall where). So cute! I am totally doing this on the patio this summer!
ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic project, E!
ReplyDeleteMegan,
ReplyDeleteOh my your son is too cute for words! Is he a little pistol or what? Being the mother of 3 boys, I've seen that smile before!
I hope you get over your cold soon! I've been down with either cold, allergies, or pinched nerve since the shop and hop but seem to be getting more work done because of it! Go figure, ha ha!
Love the pots w/ numbers! Think I am going to do some pillows up since I located my sewing machine yesterday. I think I'll let each "boy" pick his own fabric for the number so there will be no fussing over who gets to flop over which pillow. (you would think by this age they would have it worked out... but noooooo! teenage angst!)
Toodles!
I'm totally getting a decor high off these pots. Oh yes, I said it. HA!
ReplyDeleteI can just hear Atticus plotting his defenses againt his hydangea nemesis. "Those petals gave me the threatening side-eye. Why won't you people believe me."
So darling!!!! The cream pots w/ that beautiful number font--PERFECTION. How I wish you have spring break every month!
I love these. how cute...and i've got tons of pots!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, I love these little pots! What a wonderful idea. I may have to try them myself.
