creating a winter mantel

so Christmas is down in our little home and just look at my mantel now...it is so sad

i was inspired though when I saw a lovely little mirror at target and i had some Christmas money burning in my pocket. ever come across something that was meant to be in your cart?
sundays and target make me giddy. so i thought i would re-inspire my little mantel.
{roll over the picture for the AFTER}

i changed out 'joy' for 'adore'....i think it is more fitting as we approach february.

and just look at that mirror....so sweet and perfect...and under $20!

i also kept my little pier 1 kissing ball from being packed away with my other Christmas goodies for that perfect pop of color.
 it is red...it has kissing in the name..once again, this will be perfect come february.

looks like i have something special for my mantel come this february.

as for now, here is my new winter mantel.
i don't think it looks so bare now, but simple & elegant.

and...i could not help myself. here is a snapshot of me {being goofy}

Cheers~

  1. Looks great. We kept "winter" themed stuff up...snowmen, snowflakes. I just can't bear to have it all put away yet 8) Happy New Year!

  4. $20 at Target...I know..CRAZY! I saw it today and knew I had to have it. The size is perfect for being versatile in several places. It is not online...I looked, but trust me...it is there awaiting for other bloggers to snatch it up. :)

  11. I love it... and the mirror is just perfect. A mantle is on the list of 'must haves' in our next house. Hopefully the shopping will begin soon! I only wish we were going to be moving to your areas... I'd let you do the shopping for me! :)

  12. That mirror is perfect for that spot, E! I love that it fills the spot on the right and makes everything feel balanced but not fussy.

  14. I adore your mantel! I'm horrible at layering. I can only do symmetry. I'll need to take notes from your mantel! And I LOVE that little quatrefoil mirror. So cute! Thanks for linking up girl!
